Mrs Karen Jane Lynch MBE
Karen Lynch MBE became Warwickshire’s 691st High Sheriff and will serve the County for the 2025/26 Shrieval year.
Karen was born in Jarrow, Tyne & Wear, one of three siblings to Joan and Len Borsberry. Following an early career as a magazine publisher for Emap, in 2003 she moved to Flecknoe in Warwickshire, with her husband Scott, and daughters Alicja and Georgina to take up a new role at Barclays head offices, Warwick Business Park.
Following her corporate career, Karen transitioned to the world of Social Enterprise in 2009. Karen was the CEO of Belu Water from then until March 2020, launching a brand that has become one of the UK’s best-known and most awarded Social Enterprises which grew to deliver £1m in net profits per annum that in turn is passed to WaterAid. In her tenure contributing over £5m to WaterAid.
Karen also founded Expert Impact Speakers, the world’s first Social Enterprise talent bureau, whilst CEO of Expert Impact and served for six years as Non-Exec Director and Vice Chair of Social Enterprise UK.
Currently Karen is Chair of The Dusty Knuckle Bakery CIC, a Director for Homes for Good Glasgow, she is a public speaker, a teacher, and works as a business coach for purpose led CEO’s and senior leaders.
Karen was awarded an MBE for services to social enterprise and charity in June 2023 as part of the first Kings Birthday Honors list.
Karen’s personal mission is to inspire others that there is ‘a better and kinder way to do business’, ‘that through business we can solve some of the world’s problems at the same time’. Believing therefore that we should all ‘find out what we are good at, then do something good with it’.
