Night shift with the street pastors in Rugby.

It had been a long while since I’ve been in Rugby town centre in the early hours of the morning.

Last night and this morning I have the privilege of spending a shift with Rugby Street Pastors. Dawn and the team do an incredible job of walking the streets, checking in with anyone who may need help getting home, in need of a chat or some sugar. The power of handing out a lollipop to diffuse a situation or bring a smile to sad face is mind blowing. It was really clear that the Saturday night crowd were familiar with, and felt safer with rugbystreetpastors around them. What an incredible #volunteer initiative and story of collaboration across our #emergencyservices Special shout out to the Warwickshire Police team members I met, thank you for keeping us safe. #teamwork #volunteerweek #collaboration
